Mrs. Nima Mae Lawrence, 83, of Jackson, formerly of Linden, passed away May 10, 2019, at Maplewood Health Care in Jackson, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 14, 2019, in the chapel of Young Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Travis Penney officiating. Interment will follow services in the Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday evening from 4 - 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home. Ms. Lawrence was born in Tennessee City to the late Calvin Beasley Mathes and Resia Lee Horner Mathes. She was a longtime member of the Linden United Methodist Church and Howard's Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School to young and older students. She was also a Lay Preacher. She worked at both Linden Apparel plants for over 30 years, working her way up to Supervisor and then as an Engineer. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Mr. Edwin Lawrence and two brothers Robert Lee Mathes and Jesse William Mathes. She is survived by her son Tom and wife Janet Rainey of Boone, N.C. and her daughter Resia Rainey of Jackson, Tennessee; grandchildren Alexander Wortham, Michelle Mikeal, Tyler Wortham and Zachary Rainey, great-grandchildren Zoey and Enzo Mikeal and a host of other loving family members and many friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perry County Humane Society.
