Mrs. Bobbie Jane Tatum Steele, 86, of Linden passed away Thursday July 16, 2020 at Perry Community Hospital. She was born in Linden to the late George Tatum and Sadie Mae Grinder Tatum. She was retired from First State Bank where she worked for 48 years as Administrative Secretary. She was a member of the Warren United Methodist Church. She graduated from Linden High School where she played basketball. She loved watching the Lady Vols basketball game either on TV or attending the games in person. She loved bowling and played in a league in Lexington for many years. She also loved going to the Grand Ole Opry with her husband.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Gus Steele, a sister Elizabeth Tatum and brothers Carl, S. B. and Harold Tatum.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Naden Tatum of Linden, nieces Sharon (Mark) Horner, Pam McCullough and Marsha Johnston, nephews Sammy Tatum, Gary Wayne Tatum and Mike Tatum, several great nieces and nephews, a special cousin Joy (Billy Joe) Gordon of Linden, special caregivers Era Nell Pevahouse and Freda Haynes and a host of other loving family members and many friends.
While visiting or attending services for Mrs. Bobbie Steele, please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
