Dale Wenger Obituary

Mr. Dale Edward Wenger, 72, of Lobelville, won his race and began his eternity in the presence of his Lord on February 24, 2025. In the hearts and minds of his family, he was met at the finish line, and the gates of Heaven by his barefoot wife Carol Sigafoose Wenger.

Dale was born on January 12, 1953 to Ervy and Velma Wenger in Atmore, Alabama and was raised in the nearby farming community of Walnut Hill, Florida, with his sister Rachel. During his younger years, Dale farmed with his father, and his work ethic was impeccable. Arduous days in the hot Florida sun, breathing dirt and diesel exhaust formed a man with very little gray area, except when it came to a speed limit sign. Yet, if you asked his daughters, the three of them would tell you there has never, nor will there be a gentler man.

Dale gave his heart to God at a young age and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. He and Carol Sigafoose wed on December 31st, 1978, and began a family on the Wenger homestead. Dale and Carol raised three beautiful girls, Beth, Laura, and Annie. They raised their family in a loving home, with teachings of Christ and his love. These seeds that were sown in their children, reaped a bountiful harvest of grandchildren, and a great-grandson, who are taught Christ's love today. Dale and Carol moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010, before settling in Lobelville, Tennessee in 2016. In Lobelville, they found a loving church family that left such an impression on their hearts that they chose these hallowed grounds to be their final resting place.

In 2021, Dale buried Carol in Linden and had a stroke some months after. Through these trials, when lesser men would have failed, Christ's love continued to flow through him, saturating all he came in contact with. Dale continued to work as a valuable asset in a family business before retirement in late 2024, where he continued to touch customers with his humor and love until the day he left. Dale moved into Oakwood Manor Assisted Living, and never ceased his humor, nor his love with the fellow "inmates" and staff.

Although his humble nature would not care to agree, his love, charisma, humor, and counsel will be missed by all those he has touched.

Dale is mourned by his sister Rachel, Mrs. Kim Holdeman, his three daughters and their families, Chuck and Beth Chick, Darryl and Laura Ensz, and Kevin and Annie Klassen, seven grandchildren, Tina Chick, Evan Chick, Ike Ensz, Paxton Ensz, Madison Klassen, Chloe Klassen and Gabriella Klassen, and one great-grandson Nathan Chick who loving referred to his as "Pock".

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents Ervy and Velma Wenger, father-in-law Boyd Sigafoose and brother-in-law Joe Sigafoose.
