Funeral services for Mr. Don Rex Talley, 83 of Linden, will be held on Monday Sept. 22,2025, at 2PM. Visitation will take place on Monday from 11 AM until 2PM. Interment will take place at the Standing Rock Cemetery with Military Honors. Don Rex departed this life on Friday September 19, 2025 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Waverly. He had been a resident of the Perry County Nursing Home for several years. He was born May 7, 1942, in the Denson's Landing community of Perry County, to the late Burnett Britten Talley and Lessie Hensley Talley. He was one of 10 children born to this loving family. He attended the Church of Christ until his health kept him from attending. Don Rex was a factory worker, retiring from Johnson Controls after many years of employment. After retirement Don Rex found " a Calling", he became a Senior Caregiver, living with and taking care of those who could no longer live alone. Don Rex was so proud of his Military service in the United States Air Force. Most times when you saw him he had a patriotic hat with emblems and flags attached. He served for 6 years during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of Sargent.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Brothers are Enos, Leslie, and Hillard "Dutch" Talley; Sisters are Nima Grooms, Hessie Parnell, Mildred Tinin, and Jean Treadwell.
Survivors include his Sisters Sylvia Hensley, and Loretta (Walton) Holder; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
