Ernest Barber

Mr. Ernest Wayne Barber, 80, of Linden, passed away Wednesday May 28, 2025. He was born in Perry County to the late Luther Barber and Mary Irene Trull Barber. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was retired from Fisher & Company/Team Linden and had also worked at Genesco and Linden Apparel. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his friend J.R. Warren and Football. In his young adult days he played softball and was in a bowling league. In his latter years he enjoyed just sitting on the front porch drinking coffee.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his sisters Early Mae Jackson, Johnnie Ruth Trull and Wilma Barber and brothers Kenneth and Billy Barber.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years Janet Lineberry Barber, a son Travis (Rachel) Barber of Jonesboro, AR, a daughter Samantha (Robert) Nelson of Linden, grandchildren Jacob Barber, Ethan Owens, Megan Barber, Linley Owens, Eli Nelson and Autumn Nelson and a host of other loving family members and many friends.
