Mr. Gene Lee Dunn, 73, of Linden, passed away Wednesday June 19, at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 11, 1950, to the late Leslie Johnson Dunn and Maude Estalle Qualls Dunn. He was a life long resident of Linden and graduated PCHS, class of 1969. After high school graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. After his military service ended he attended and received his Associates Degree from Columbia State College. Mr. Dunn worked for many years for Red Kap, Inc. in Lobelville, and after the plant closed in 1992 he continued working for them in Dickson. In 2000, after the plant in Dickson closed, he worked for Bates Fabricating in Lobelville until his retirement. Gene enjoyed fishing and playing golf with co - workers and was a Vanderbilt Commodore fan. He enjoyed following the Commodores, watching many basketball, football, and baseball games. More importantly, his favorite past-time, was spending many enjoyable times with his family, especially the times he got to spend with his granddaughter Lacy.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dunn is preceded in death by his sister Mary Dunn; two brothers Jerry and Junior Dunn; sister in laws Judy, Jeanette, and Ann; niece Debbie Dunn; and nephew Brian Dunn. Survivors include his loving wife Christine Pevahouse Dunn, of Linden; son Chris Dunn of Chattanooga, TN; daughter Gina ( Alan ) Godsey of Dickson, TN; brother Joe Dunn of Linden; granddaughter Lacy Christine Godsey of Dickson. He also is survived by 5 nieces and 2 nephews, and many other family members and many many friends.
