Ms. Janice Marie Dabbs, 71, of Linden, passed away at her home on Tuesday June 24, 2025. Memorial Services will be held on Friday June 27, 2025, in the chapel of Young Funeral Home. Visitation with her family will be held Friday from 4 until 6PM.
Janice was born on October 10, 1953 at the Boyce Clinic in Hohenwald, TN to the late James Edward and Elise (Morgan) Tate. She grew up in Pineview before moving to Linden to attend Perry County High School, and graduated in the class of 1971. She worked many jobs before retiring due to health issues. Janice and her husband were members of the First United Methodist Church. She loved attending all of her grandchildren's events, and all University of Tennessee Vols sports (their home includes a decked out orange and white bathroom, including a checkerboard tile floor!) Janice also loved Perry County basketball and listed to Jay Hinson's broadcasts whenever she could not attend. Jewelry and reading were two of her passions as well.
Janice is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Dr. Larry W. Dabbs. Children: Jana Beth Conway, Kara Leigh Turnbow (James), and Cody Duncan (Leia), a special niece whom she considered her "first baby" Tracy Broadway. Grandchildren: Jansen Henderson (Dylan), Kason Turnbow, Abby Beth Conway, Anna Bess Conway, and Lynnleigh Tayte Duncan. Bonus Children: Lezlee Dabbs Beard-Gower (Scott), Dr. Lincoln W. Dabbs (Tiffany), and Lantz W. Dabbs (Stacy). Bonus Grandchildren: Neison W. Dabbs (Kirstan), Avery Dabbs, Hudson Beard, Emery Dabbs, Cooper Dabbs, Macartney Dabbs, Knox Dabbs, and Zachary Dabbs. Bonus Great Grandchildren: Jayce Allen and Reyna Allen. Siblings: Betty Edwards, Eva Qualls (Bobby), and Joyce Carter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Preston Carter.
