Jerry Kennon Creech

Mr. Jerry Creech, 87, of Linden, passed away Saturday May 27, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transition Center. Mr. Creech was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Angier, NC, to the late Simon and Agnes Creech. Mr. Creech attended Elon University after graduating high school. During his final year he was drafted into the United States Army. After his service in the military and other jobs, he was hired by the Goodyear Rubber Company.  Mr. Creech was great employee for Goodyear, working as a Machinist. He was transferred to the factory in Union City, TN  where he continued his 30 year career for Goodyear.  After retirement, he moved to Linden, TN where he continued to call Perry County his home.

He was a great "handyman". You could find him countless times working on odd jobs around the house or on a project outside.  He was very good working with his hands and it showed with his favorite hobby "wood working".  He also enjoyed the times he and his wife spent many enjoyable days on their boat, cruising up and down the Tennessee River.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Creech is preceded in death by his brother Donald Creech and a half sister Nancy Doris Matthews.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Leona Shepherd Creech of Linden, TN; two sons Alan (Jennifer) Creech of Yorkville, IL and Gary Creech of Linden, TN; three grandchildren Brandon (Ty) Creech, Jessica (Austin) Robinson, and Nicholas Creech; one great grandchild Buck Taylor Robinson; one sister Doris Davis of Chesapeake, VA. He will be greatly missed by many other family members, neighbors, and friends.
