Jimmy Roger Hayes Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Roger Hayes, 66, of Huntingdon, Tn., passed away peacefully Thursday July 17, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Perry County to the late James Roger Hayes and Rachel Ann Cotham. Jimmy proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He lived his life with dedication, believing that a man's duty was to provide for his family. A commitment he carried proudly through every stage of his life.

Jimmy was Pastor of The Bridge-Huntingdon and spent his days taking care of his beloved wife and children. He was a man of many passions, especially racing dirt cars, enjoying Chinese buffets, playing with his grandchildren, and moving freight. Jimmy also cherished the simple joy of talking on the phone for hours with his dear friend Kevin, who passed away just a short time before him--a friendship that brought laughter and companionship. Jimmy and his wife were avid fans of Perry County High School Basketball, whether they played at home or on the road you could always find them in the crowd. Winning seasons or losing seasons they were always there.

Jimmy was a man defined by his incredible strength and determination. Even during his final battle, he insisted on preserving, committed to fighting with everything he had. True to his grit, he refused pain medications, enduring with a toughness that exemplified his character. His strength carried him until the very end--a testament to the fighter he was, both in life and in spirit. He will be remembered not only for his resilience but for the love, laughter and lessons he shared with all who knew him.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by an infant son Clinton Roger Hayes.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Lisa Hensley Hayes, a son Jamie Hayes, daughters Angel Bowles, Destiny Parker, Donna Hodges and Monica Marlin, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister Sheila Herndon and a host of other loving family members and many, many friends. His legacy lives on through each of them.
