Obituary

Ms. Lena Jo Horner Kidd, 82, of Linden passed away Monday January 6, 2020 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday January 9, 2020 in the chapel of Young Funeral Home with Randy Young officiating. Interment followed services in the Dr. O.A. Kirk Memorial Cemetery.

Lena Jo Horner Kidd was born April 16, 1937 to the late William Leonard and Aucie Allen Horner on Lick Creek in Perry County. She attended Nathan School on Lick Creek, Pineview School on Tom’s Creek and graduated from Linden High School in 1955. In 1955 she was Miss Linden High School, loved her classmates and was instrumental in organizing a Class Reunion each year. She was a charter member of Lick Creek Baptist Church, loved her church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1959 and went to work in the Dean of Admissions Office. Then she met the love of her life Samuel Hunter Kidd of Clarksville. She was a retired Secretary from the Perry County Clerk and Masters Office. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Samuel Kidd.

Survivors include her son Scott William Kidd, a very special granddaughter Audra Caroline Kidd, a grandson Nicolas Wayne Kidd a host of other loving relatives and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Lick Creek Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 1671 Lower Lick Creek Road, Linden, Tn. 37096
