Ms. Margie Cotham Graham Rhodes, 89, of Trenton, formerly of Linden passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital with family at her side. She was born in Perry County to the late Ed and Lela Cotham. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband JW Rhodes, a son Jeffrey Graham and a brother Danny Cotham.
Ms. Margie was a member of the Linden Church of Christ and was retired from Johnson Controls in Linden. She had previously worked at Linden Garment Factory, as secretary at Perry County High School and Linden Elementary as a teacher’s aide. She still considered those children as her own. She was an avid reader and enjoyed laughing with her caretakers at Harlan Morris in Trenton. They could never guess what she would say next.
Survivors include her children Connie (Wayne) Bates of Trenton, Jacky (Carol) Graham of Linden, daughter-in law Becky Graham Travis of Linden, step-children Roger Rhodes of Linden and Susan Rhodes-Alexander of Nashville. Grandchildren Chris N (Janet) Graham of Lakeland, Chris M Graham of Linden, Ginny (Noel) Bendure of Thompson Station, Janna (Erick) Rios of Hixson, Graham (Jessica) Bates of Las Vegas, NV, Brandi (Matt Bledsoe) Graham of Linden, and Mandi (Jonathan) Hickerson of Linden. She also loved her great-grandchildren, Andi Graham, Kinslee and Tegan Bendure, Ericka, Kyla and Alex Rios, Josiah, Abigail, and Destiny Bates, Chole and Bently Bledsoe, and her little “southpaw” Caroline Hickerson. Long time school friends Nola Mae Moore and Ollie Mae Moore made up the “three peas in a pod”. But the special love of her life was Louie, her Bichon, who misses his mama and a host of other loving family members and many, many friends.
