Mr. Mike Smith 58, of Linden, passed away Friday Nov. 22, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, after a long illness. He was born to the late Raymond Smith and Jessie Churchwell Smith. Mike grew up in the Pleasantville community. He had many friends in all three neighboring towns of Centerville, Hohenwald, and Linden. His big personality and even bigger smile made making friends easy everywhere he went. He worked as an electrician, truck driver, and at Bates Fabricating. His passion was racing of anykind. He especially loved watching NASCAR every week and cheering on his favorite drivers and teams. Mike could be found almost every weekend at the local dirt tracks, where he had his favorites there too. He even drove his own car for a short period of time. He never lost interest in the sport and even kept up with the local results when his health would no longer let him attend.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Oakley Anthony. Survivors include his daughter Whitney (Shawn) Love; his son Tyler Smith; 4 grandchildren; his aunt Ava Gold; and many other relatives and friends. In keeping with Mike's instruction the family has chosen cremation, with Mike's remains being buried with his cherished parents.
