Randy Cleo Hickerson, 73, of Linden, passed away peacefully on January 27th in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Hohenwald, TN, August 30, 1952, to the late Cleo Edgar Hickerson & Ouida Mae Hickerson.
Randy began his work journey immediately following graduation, by joining the National Guard. After that, he worked at the garment factory, Linden Apparel, as a bundle boy for his mother. In 1978, he went to work for the state, and sold vacuum cleaners on the side. He retired from the state after 30 years, to then work for Armstrong Pie Company. After Armstrong Pie, Randy started his own Pressure Washing, and mowing business. He was married in 1998 to the late Jane Hickerson, the love of his life. He was a faithful member of the Linden Church of Christ.
He has had many titles, but perhaps “Rara” was his favorite.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and the things he loved most. He had a deep love for deer hunting, fishing, talking on the C.B. radio, and dirt track racing. He was a devoted Christian whose faith shaped the way he lived. He always looked for ways to serve others, whether through helping a neighbor, supporting his church, or giving his time to the community. Throughout his life, Randy was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Above all else, Randy loved his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids more than life. They were his greatest pride. He will be remembered for his faith, his servant’s heart, and the steady love he showed to everyone he knew.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife Jane Hickerson.
He is survived by his Children, Cassie Seiber, Carol (Andy) Ulmer, and Eric (Bethany Dabbs) Hickerson all of Linden, Grandchildren Shelby Seiber, Elizabeth (Tyler) Hinson, Logan Hickerson, Ellie Ulmer, Owen Hickerson, Charlie Ulmer, and Great Grandchildren Hattie Hinson & Harper Hinson all of Linden, a brother Jerry (Linda) Hickerson of Centerville, a niece Teresa (Mart) Rowe, nephew Stace Hickerson, great nieces Loren (Tyler) Horner and Brooke Holcomb, great-great niece and nephew Capri and Cree, and a host of many, many friends.
Randy had a love for helping the local youth. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Linden Church of Christ Youth (Andy Ulmer) or Buddy’s Rescue.
