Mr. Ray Richardson, 78, of Linden, passed away Monday August 28, 2023 at Greencrest Assisted Living in Parsons. He was born in Nashville to the late William Hobart Richardson and Sallie Matt Culp Richardson. He was a Shriner, and also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a communications specialist. He worked for Tiller Furniture Company as well as taught electronics at Tennessee Area Vocational School for many years. He also worked for Tennessee Gas Pipeline as a systems analyst where he retired after 26 years. Ray’s favorite past time was playing the guitar and the keyboard. He played in a band called the Persuaders and later one called The Elderly Brothers. He enjoyed playing music for the fish fries at the Flatwoods Fire Department. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and catfishing on the Tennessee River with Ronnie Ary and Sam Reeves. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Bernis, Pete, W.H., and Edward Richardson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patty Richardson, a son James Ray "Jimmy" (Sherry) Richardson of Bon Aqua, a daughter Sheri (Shane) Ary of Linden, and five grandsons, Brandon, Alex, and Cody Richardson, and Caleb and Colby Ary and a host of other loving family members and many friends.
