Ms. Resia Rainey, 62, of Jackson, formerly of Linden, passed away Saturday July 1, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born in Linden to the late James Cecil "Jim" Rainey and Nima Mathis Rainey Lawrence. She was retired from the Jackson Sears store where she had worked as a Salesperson. Resia was a member of the Malesus United Methodist Church in Jackson where she taught the Art Angels class that she dearly loved. Resia was a member of the Executive Committe of the Madison County Democratic Party where she served as Secretary. She was also an active member of the Madison Area Democratic Women. She also was a huge Betty Boop collector.
Survivors include her sons Tyler and Alex Wortham both of Jackson, a brother Tommy (Janet) Rainey of Boone, North Carolina, her #notmydog, Beau and a host of other loving family members and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Malesus United Methodist Church, 448 Old Malesus Road, Jackson, Tn. 38301 in Resia's memory or the American Cancer Society.
