Mr. Richard Leon "Rich" Miller, 78, went to be with his Lord on the afternoon of June 2, 2021 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Manila, Arkansas on July 30, 1942 to Curtis and Katherine Miller. "Rich" served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Independence with Fighter Squadron VF-41 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam's early days. Upon returning to Arkansas, he worked for Mississippi County Electric Cooperative. He then moved from Arkansas and joined Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative in Linden around April of 1969 as a journey lineman. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and part-time golfer, who truly loved rooting for his Arkansas Razorbacks and Vanderbilt. His later love was for his brothers in the Perry County Vietnam Veterans Association. Known by just about everyone in Perry County, he could be seen at the local gas stations, post office and riding around the county, spilling stories and visiting with his many friends.
