Sue Ann Smothers Cotham

Ms. Sue Ann Smothers Cotham, 77, of Old Hickory, formerly of Linden, passed away Friday November 17, 2023. She was born at home in Perry County, to the late Jake Smothers and Ruby Louise Crossnoe Smothers.  She was the 5th of 7 children.   Sue Ann was a graduate of Linden High School and loved watching TV, especially Court TV, True Crime and Momma's Family. She also loved eating cake.  Sue Ann lived in many places throughout her life including Chicago, Durham, NC, Virginia and Maryland but Tennessee was her home and eventually moved back in 1995. Sue was the VP of a mortgage banking firm until she became disabled in 1986.  She always enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Richard Faine Cotham, her siblings Shelby McCutcheon, Sally Churchwell, Doug Smothers, George Smothers and Becky Smothers and a infant brother William Henry Smothers.

Survivors include her daughter Michelle Hawkins of Old Hickory, a grandson Zachary Faine Hawkins, a granddaughter Zoe Dawn Hawkins and a host of other loving family members and many friends.
