Thomas Slayman Obituary

Mr. Thomas James Slayman Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 23rd, 2021 at 6:30pm at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 29th, 1946 in Fort Sill, OK. Right after high school he joined the US Army and did one tour in Vietnam. When he returned he started working construction and made that his career. His hobbies included wood working, hunting, and working the garden. He enjoyed shooting guns, carving spoons, camping, spending time with his family, telling stories, watching movies, and he enjoyed trying a variety of ethnic foods, and encouraged others to try them as well. But what he loved most was mission work and telling people about Jesus. He spent 2 1/2 years doing mission work in the prisons of Thailand. Tom was preceded in death by both parents, his father Col. William John Slayman of CO, and Mary (McCord) Slayman Montgomery of Centerville, TN. 2 brothers, William J. Slayman Jr and Michael George Slayman.

Tom, aka Pops, is survived by his beloved of 51 years, Kathryn Ann (Peck) Slayman. His 4 children, T.J (Kham) Slayman, Sara (Steve) Bailey, Mary (Jason) Kibler, and Robert (Annapurna) Slayman. His 17 grandchildren, Moriah, Isaac, Shiloh, Bethany, Kathryn, Woodrow, Jedidiah, Jacob, Jack, Wyatt, Tabitha, Timothy, Elijah, Alabama, Chadwick, Nanda Devi, and Luke. His 2 brothers, 1 sister, 7 nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who he called family.
