Mr. Walton Holder, 87, of Linden, passed away Monday July 6, 2026 at Perry County Community Hospital. He was born in Linden to the late Clatus Holder and Eula Collins Holder. He was a graduate of Linden High School, Class of 1959. Walton was retired from the Perry County Highway Department where he had worked for over 20 years. Besides working with the county crew he was also a farmer. He had served on the Farm Bureau and Coop Board of Directors for many years. He enjoyed raising hogs, cows, corn and soybeans, but cutting cedar posts was his favorite. He and his wife always raised a garden in the summertime. He also enjoyed riding the tractor, whether it was planting crops or cutting hay. The time he spent with his family was the best of all.
Survivors include his wife Louretta Talley Holder, daughters Dorleen Hobbs of Linden and Sherry Holder of Collinwood, grandchildren Brandi (Matt Latham) Niece, Alisha Bunn and Tyler (Zoe) Wilson, great-grandchildren Madison (Drew) Irwin, Neyland Niece, Caine Mayberry, Emma (Tyson Leonard) Mayberry, Addilynn Averett, Axel Bunn, Athena Seymore and soon to be baby Carson, special friends Kimberly and Nell Carter, Elaine Jackson and Sarah Miller and a host of other family members and many friends.
