Ms. Wanda Williams Parnell, 88, of Columbia, formerly of Linden, passed away Saturday November 20, 2021 at Maury Regional Hospital. Most everyone knew her as Wanda Williams born on March 19, 1933 in Perry County to the late Dabbs Tucker and Ardella Seagraves Tucker. She retired from Johnson Controls in 1997 and lived most of the remainder of her life in Hickman County. She had lots of family and friends she loved very much. Her best friends were her dogs. To hear her talk about them you might think she was talking about her children. Wanda also had priorities in life, her God, her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, her friends and her country. She was heard many times saying if you have God in your life then you are never alone. And to have God, Family, Friends and to be an American you are very rich.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Williams and Jack Parnell, a son Mark McAlister, a grandson Conrad Himes, Jr., two sisters Jo Fay Tucker Edmonds and Connie Tucker Sasser and a brother Nelson Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter Debbie Hinson (Bobby) Collins of Columbia, a son Tony (Lynne) McAlister of Franklin, step-sons Bobby (Carolyn) Parnell and Ricky Parnell both of Linden, 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, two sisters Mary Burnett of South Carolina and Joan Thompson of Wisconsin and a host of other loving family members and many friends.
